The Wailers

Friday evening was the night for Wellington music fans to pull out their best Rasta style threads, as the legendary Wailers were in town! It was one huge sing-along with the band performing all the stunning songs from 'Exodus'. Those songs even carried on for the train journey home with all passengers cranking out a slightly drunken 'No Woman, No Cry'. What a night!

Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy's gig at the Frontroom really shook those skeletons out of the closet! The Halloween gig saw the band warm up the room with their ass shaking antics. The constant fogging of my lens was a sign that I should have been dancing, rather than snapping! Glad I kept snapping though as the lighting provided some awesome Kodak moments!

Little Bushman and NZSO

Little Bushman live with NZSO was the second orchestral collaboration I have photographed for the Bushies. The evening was a beautiful journey through sound that really made your skin tingle. Great work guys!

DJ Skitz and Deadly Hunta

DJ Skitz and Deadly Hunta rock! Hunta's back freaked out on him 30 mins before he was due on stage and he couldn't move. We had to call an ambulance to check him out, they said he wouldn't be performing again for weeks, yet an hour later he was up on stage rocking the San Fran Bathhouse, incredible!

Fly My Pretties 3

Wow! What an incredible show it was. Huge congrats to everybody involved!

Issue Six out now

It's finally ready! Issue six is now on the streets and online. We have a stunning lineup looking into the power that art and music have to influence social change. Go check it out now!

Cheers

Rio Hunuki - Hemopo

I caught up with Rio in the studio just before he headed to Womad to perform with Freddys. After chatting for an hour about our favourite documentaries, we though it was time to snap some crazy portraits. I know the first one has freaked him out!

JAZZ FESTIVAL '09

Friday's after Midnight Jam

Friday's after Midnight Jam

L.A.Mitchell

Eric Bibb

Melanie Pain

What an incredible Festival it was, my highlight of the 4 days was definitely Freddy's followed by the once in a lifetime after Midnight Jam session containing a few of the Freddy's boys, half of the Mingus Big Band from New York, Otis Taylor and a whole lot more. Amazing!

ONE LOVE PORTRAITS

These portraits were shot backstage at One Love. The Black Seeds were about to take the stage for a stunning performance, I thought it was the perfect time to pull out the old Mamiya medium format film camera and capture some portraits.

RYAN PREBBLE

Ryan Prebble was the first musician to be photographed for a new project I'm working on. I want to start documenting more of my favourite musos in the studio with no pressures of a commercial job.

I'm hoping to post new shots every few weeks, if you want to see more, please subscribe and the posts will be sent straight to your email.

Enjoy! PAT

TYPESHED 11

For the Typeshed 11 symposium, I decided that people talking on stage wasn't going to get me any exciting images. So I decided to take my lighting kit down to the waterfront and capture the amazing speakers who were involved. This is four out of the twenty or so that I snapped.
